with rectangular moulded top, a cushion frieze drawer
and three short and three long drawers with feather-
banded panels, the stand with one shallow and two deep
drawers above a shaped apron, on turned tapering legs
joined by a waved stretcher, on bun feet, 5ft. lin. high
by 3ft. wide (155cm. by 100cm.) circa 1695, legs and
stretchers replaced.
A WILLIAM AND MARY WALNUT CHEST ON STAND with veneered
crossbanded top and two short and three graduated long drawers, with a
long drawer in the base, on bulbous ring-turned feet, 4ft. 2V2in. high by 3ft. 6in. wide (128cm. by
107cm.) circa 1700, later legs.
A WILLIAM AND MARY BLACK-JAPANNED SIDE
TABLE, the top decorated with figures in a landscape,
with a frieze drawer and ringed cup and cover legs
joined by an X-stretcher, on bun feet, 2ft. 5in. high by 3ft.
IViin. wide (74cm. by 95cm.) circa 1700, stretcher and
bun feet restored.
A GEORGE II MAHOGANY BACHELOR’S CHEST, of
rare and unusual form, the hinged top with two lopers
flanking the frieze set with four dummy drawers above
nine short drawers, with two shallow drawers at each
side and brass handles, on bracket feet, 2ft. 6l/2in. high by
3ft. (78cm. by 91cm.) circa 1740.
ANOTHER, similar but smaller, with figures in landscape
on an olive green ground, 2ft. 4′/2in. high by 2ft 7l/2in. wide (72cm. by 80cm) circa 1700.
A GEORGE II PROVINCIAL WALNUT CORNER ARMCHAIR, the curved toprail
centred by a shell, with two piain tapering splats and turned arm supports,
with drop-in seat and cabriole front leg headed by a scallop-shell and ending in claw and ball feet,
circa 1740.

A DUTCH MARQUETRY STANDING CORNER CUP-
BOARD with serpentine front, the upper part with
a moulded comice and a pair of panelled doors with a slide below, the lower
part with a pair of panelled doors, on bail feet, 8ft. 5in. high (257cm.) mid-18th Century, inlaid
with
floral marquetry on an oak ground.
A PAIR OF ITALIAN GILTWOOD GIRANDOLES, each
tapering serpentine-topped plate with a cresting and side
pieces of rococo scrolls with flowerheads, each apron
with grotesque mask, 2ft. lin. high by Ift. 4lhin. wide
(63cm. by 42cm.) mid-18th Century, originally with
candle-arms.
A DUTCH PINE CUPBOARD with triangular broken
pediment above a pair of cupboard doors enclosing
shelves and drawers, above an ogee-fronted base with
three long drawers, 7ft. 7in. high by 5ft. wide (231cm. by
152cm.) circa 1760.
A PAIR OF DUTCH WALNUT AND MARQUETRY CHAIRS,
each curved solid vase splat inlaid with birds and
flowers partly in bone and with shaped supports, the shaped drop-in seats on
cabriole legs with pointed pad and waved H-stretchers, mid-18th Century.
A Louis XV KINGWOOD ETAGERE,
the elliptical top with a moulded border and inlaid with a
chequer banding, with a smaller conforming shelf below, on pierced trestle supports
joined by a crossbar, 2ft. 4in. high by 2ft. Win. wide (71cm. by 87cm.) circa 1770.
A SCANDINAVIAN CARVED OAK BOX inscribed with the date anno 174*
and with two sets of initiais, the hinged lid and sides incised

leather, the coffered lid inset with a brass panel, enclosing a
fitted interior lined in blue silk, with a drawer below, with
carrying handles at the sides and on gilt-metal feet with
flowerheads, leaves and berries, 53Ain. high by ll3Ain. wide (153cm. by 29cm.) circa 1835.
AN OYSTER-LABURNUM AND ROSEWOOD-VENEERED
CABINET ON CHEST, the doors enclosing an interior fitted
with drawers surrounding a central cupboard with
further drawers inside, the base with two short and two
long drawers, raised on bracket feet, 4ft. Win. high by
3ft. 9in. wide (148cm. by 114.5cm.) extensively re-
constructed and restored.
A GEORGE I WALNUT CHEST ON STAND,
the moulded cornice above three frieze drawers and
three graduated long drawers with canted, fluted corners, the lower
part with one short drawer flanked by deep drawers and a curved apron,
on later cabriole legs, 5ft. 63Ain. high by 3ft.
A QUEEN ANNE WALNUT BUREAU CABINET, the
upper part with a moulded comice above two mirrored
doors engraved with an arch and flowerheads, with a
pair of candle-slides below, the lower part with a flap
and bookrest, enclosing a fitted interior with a well
above three dummy frieze drawers and two short and
two graduated long drawers, on later bun feet, 6ft. 8in.
high by 3ft. 3V4in. wide (204cm. by 100cm.) both parts circa
1710, but not originally together.
A SMALL WALNUT BUREAU, the Aap enclosing a
fitted interior and well above three graduated long
drawers, on later bracket feet, 3ft. lin. high by lft. lVhin.
wide (94cm. by 60cm.) extensively restored and reduced
inwidth.
A QUEEN ANNE WALNUT SIDE TABLE with a
moulded quarter-veneered crossbanded top, a cross-
banded drawer above a shaped apron and cabriole legs
with pad feet, 2ft. 3in. high by 2ft. Sin. wide (69cm. by
73cm.) circa 1710.

outlined with mouldings, the upper one carved with leaf scrolls and the lower panel with

of the front outlined with simple recessed ebonised channel mouldings and with plain
panelled sides, 5ft. 9lhin. high by 6ft. ‘Ain. wide (177cm. by 184cm.) S.W. Yorkshire, circa
1680, left door with restoration.

the frieze with incised decoration and the drawers each with a pair of geometncally cushioned panels set with ebonised wood with panelled sides, 2ft. 10tn. hrgh by 3ft.

each with four panels incised with diamonds, with cock’s-head iron hinges and the sides

A CHARLES II OAK HANGING CUPBOARD OR GLASS CASE, the top with an applied
dentil frieze, the upper section with a pair of turned fruitwood balusters, above three
geometrically inlaid panels, the central one forming a door, the front outlined with
stamped mouldings and each side with pierced diamond-shaped ventilation holes, 2ft.

interlaced monogram, the everted sides carved with birds and pots with trailing flowers
and with four heart-shaped pierced handles, showing traces of polychrome and gilt, lft.

A GOOD CHARLES II MARQUETRY “LACE” BOX in oyster-cut walnut, the top with a
crossbanded moulding, a giant oyster-veneered oval enclosing an ebony ground inlaid
with tulips and other flowers in a variety of woods and green-stained bone with similarly
inlaid spandels, the front and sides with similar simpler floral panels on an oyster-
veneered ground within a pearwood banding, the interior retaining some of the original
coral pink silk with compartments and a mirror on the underside of the lid, 6in. high by
lft. Hin. wide (15cm. by 59cm.) circa 1670
A GOOD CHARLES II GILTWOOD WALL MIRROR, the bevelled rectangular plate
enclosed by a hollow cushion frame carved with leaves, the centre of the top with a pair of
embracing cherubs, each side with a cherub, the base with a bird, with tree, flower and
leaf border and the leaf scroll cresting with a pair of winged cherubs supporting a
cartouche surmounted by a basket of flowers, 4ft. 6in. high by 2ft. llin. wide (137cm. by
89cm.) circa 1680, later glass, resilvered.
AN ELIZABETHAN OAK LONG BENCH OR FORM with single plank top, the frieze
with shaped undersides and raised on simple shaped trestle Supports and piain stretchers,
Ift. 7V2in. high by 6ft. 3in. long (49cm. by 191cm.) circa 1600, branded IT and IB, one
buttress trimmed.
A FINE WILLIAM AND MARY WALNUT ARMCHAIR with upholstered rectangular
back, the padded arms on leafy scroll supports and the upholstered seat with canted scroll
front legs joined by a scroll-carved front stretcher and with similar leaf-carved H-shaped
stretchers and back legs, circa 1690, covered in blue silk damask.
ANOTHER, similar, the moulded arms with scroll handles and simpler flower-
caryed scroll supports, the scroll legs headed by masks, swagged with husks and ending
with scrolls and joined by curved X-stretchers composed of flower-carved scrolls
decorated in gilt on cream and grey, circa 1690, re-railed.
A RARE CHARLES II OAK STOOL, the stuffed seat fringed and covered in English
floral Turkey-work with spiral-twist legs and stretchers, lft. 4V2in. high by lft. Hin. wide
(42cm. by 58cm.) circa 1680.
A GOOD WILLIAM AND MARY WALNUT BUREAU CABINET, the upper part with a
cavetto comice above a pair of doors with bevelled rectangular mirror plates enclosed by a
moulding, with engraved brass escutcheons and enclosing three adjustable shelves, with a
pair of candle-shdes below; the bureau section projecting slightly at the sides and the flap
with a ledge for a book support and enclosing drawers and pigeon-holes and with a frieze
drawer; the lower part with three long drawers ail with chevron bandings outlined by
plain mouldings and raised on bun feet, ail the escutcheons and handles in brass engraved
with birds, 7ft. high by 3ft. 6in. wide (214cm. by 107cm.) circa 1690.
A PAIR OF QUEEN ANNE GILTWOOD SMALL PIER GLASSES, each with an arched
bevelled plate contained within a bevelled mirror border, the shaped apron with gesso
scrollwork on a punched ground, the cresting similarly decorated and with a pair of
volutes, 4ft. 6in. high by 2ft.
A QUEEN ANNE WALNUT LIBRARY BOOKCASE of small size, with moulded cavetto
cornice and a pair of doors each with eight rectangular panels enclosed by plain crossbanded mouldings above a fielded veneered panel and enclosing adjustable shelves
above three pairs of drawers with veneered sides and bracket feet, 6ft Hin high by 4ft HAin. wide by lft. 4in. deep (211cm. by 126cm. by 40cm.) circa 1710, bracket feet.
